The Lohan School

A national and international school working with methodology, discipline, care, mystique and dedication for the integral formation of children, young people and adults.

Origins

Founded in 1992

The Gimnasio Lohan was founded in the city of Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela by Sifu Argimiro Núñez Aponte, in September 1992.

The name chosen by the Sifu was inspired by the title given to the disciples of Buddha Sakyamuni who wrote and protected the teachings of the Buddhist canon. These monks and bodhisattvas were called Arahats in Sanskrit — Lohan in Chinese. In Buddhism, an arhat is one who has reached deep understanding of the true nature of the mind, yet chose to remain in the cycle of rebirth to work for the wellbeing, realisation and enlightenment of others.

In the traditional martial arts chair of Pak Hok Pai Kung Fu, its rector Sifu Argimiro Núñez is the director for all the Americas of the Pak Hok Pai Cheung Kwok Wah International Martial Arts Association.

Approach

Three levels of practice

From the very beginning, Sifu Argimiro offered an alternative for society oriented to developing mind–body health through knowledge, training and physical practice at three levels:

01

High impact

Knowledge, training and anaerobic physical practice to build high-performance athletes.

02

Moderate

Knowledge, training and moderate practices working at the psycho-physical level.

03

Passive

Knowledge, training and passive practices working at the bio-psycho-spiritual level.

Who we are

Integral formation

We are a school of national and international character. We work with methodology, discipline, care, mystique and dedication, in a constant and progressive search for the integral formation of children, young people and adults in physical and mental health, fitness and sport, through four disciplines:

  • 1Traditional Pak Hok Pai Kung Fu
  • 2Tai Chi Chuang / Qigong / Bagua
  • 3RajadhiRaja Yoga
  • 4CrossTraining
Vision

Our philosophy

We aspire to the maximum development of all the physical, mental and spiritual potential of the student or athlete — caring for their good health, wellbeing, happiness and inner peace.

Mission

Our mission

To educate and encourage the progressive formation of students in Pak Hok Pai Kung Fu, Tai Chi Chuan, RajadhiRaja Yoga and CrossTraining, so that they gain sufficient integral knowledge and experience daily training and practice. We seek to unify criteria and spread the school's philosophy of mind–body health, maintaining a methodological pattern of technical training — with conduct, discipline, system and speed — to develop the ability to identify and solve problems suited to each stage of the student's development.

Values

Our values

The school is oriented to the formation of children, young people and adults in the areas of health, sport, fitness, recreation, culture, ethics, awareness, morality, honesty and spiritual principles — for the benefit of all.
