RajadhiRaja Yoga

An integral science of inner development: asanas, meditation, devotion and selfless service.

What is Yoga

Etymologically, Yoga means union — the union of individual consciousness with the absolute principle, of the individual mind with the cosmic mind. Yoga was born when great seers of our past sounded the mysteries of the mind, the intellect, the emotions, suffering and life. It has not come from speculation, but from thousands of years of experience replicated by many yogis throughout history. Anyone can approach Yoga, for it offers a technique for every personality, temperament and stage of evolution.

What is RajadhiRaja Yoga

This system-science was created around seven thousand years ago by the tantric master Sadashiva, founder of Tantra Yoga. Tantra centres on esoteric techniques for the control and use of all energies, in a lucid and conscious way. The word Tantra comes from Sanskrit: "Tanot" means expansion, "trayati" liberation — to expand in order to liberate.

Five thousand years later the sage Aśtavakra named this system Rājādhirāja Yoga and transmitted it to his disciple Alarka in Bengal, India. In 1986 Sifu Argimiro Núñez (Arun Deva) encountered these teachings and learned this Dharma from his Mahat Guru Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti. It is a practical path to free oneself and awaken — the path of the "king of kings".

The paths within RajadhiRaja Yoga

01

Hatha Yoga

The most classical form of practising asanas and pranayamas. It combines posture and breathing to reach a state of realisation, and helps you know your body and develop inner sensitivity.

02

Raja Yoga

The "royal path": reintegration with the Absolute through mastery of the mind, concentration and meditation. It includes Kundalini Yoga, Mantra Yoga and Kriya Yoga.

03

Jñana Yoga

The path of knowledge and discernment: systematic meditation and the study of the scriptures to distinguish the real from the unreal.

04

Karma Yoga

The yoga of selfless action and service, purifying the ego through work offered to others.

05

Bhakti Yoga

The yoga of devotion, transforming emotions into a flow of pure love toward the Absolute.

These paths do not exclude one another. Just as personalities hold many shades, the five yogas are practised together as the personality expresses its various dimensions.

Relaxation

Within psychobiological balance there is always a fundamental rhythm: an active phase and a passive phase. Conscious relaxation rebalances the person physically and psychically, returning the body's rhythm to natural harmony and allowing the rest and regeneration of muscles, tissues and the mind. Yogis have mastered the art of resting completely at will — a deep relaxation that lowers blood pressure, slows the pulse and renews the nervous centres.

Benefits of meditation

Physically, yoga and meditation regenerate the muscular, circulatory, skeletal, nervous, digestive and endocrine systems. Control of the breath reduces oxygen consumption, lowers blood pressure and deepens circulation. Emotionally and mentally, the mind is purified — releasing blockages, fears and tension — while qualities such as love, generosity, compassion and self-confidence grow. Flexibility increases, posture is corrected and the risk of injury diminishes, bringing strength without excess muscle mass and a body that is harmonious, strong and graceful.
